Data Airflow ("we", "us") operates News Alerts, an internal news-monitoring service at alerts.dataairflow.net. It delivers summarized industry news briefings by email and SMS text message to registered members of Data Airflow and affiliated organizations. This policy explains what information the service holds and how it is used.
Who uses this service
News Alerts is not a public or consumer service. Accounts are created only by a Data Airflow administrator for employees, contractors, and business partners who have asked to receive news briefings. We do not sell access, collect information from website visitors, or use tracking cookies beyond the login session cookie described below.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, work email address, mobile phone number, and a password (stored only as a one-way hash).
- Delivery preferences: whether you receive briefings by email, SMS, or both, how often, and at what time of day.
- Company profile and topics: the description of your company and the news topics your organization monitors, entered by you or your administrator.
- Session cookie: a signed cookie that keeps you logged in. It contains no tracking identifiers.
We do not collect payment information, location data, or any information from your mobile device other than the phone number you provide.
How we use it
- To send you news briefings by email and SMS at the schedule you choose.
- To let you log in and manage your company profile, topics, and preferences.
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. Delivery logs record when a briefing was sent and whether it was delivered.
SMS text messaging
If SMS delivery is turned on for your account, you will receive a short text message each time a briefing is published, typically once per day or once per week, containing a headline count, the top headline, and a link to the full briefing page on alerts.dataairflow.net. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message or by turning SMS off in your account settings. Reply HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers needed to run News Alerts, and only for that purpose:
- Twilio delivers SMS messages and receives your phone number and the message text.
- SendGrid delivers email and receives your email address and the message content.
- Anthropic generates the news summaries. It receives article text and the company profile, never your personal details.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Retention
Account information is kept while your account is active. When an administrator removes your account, your name, email, phone number, and preferences are deleted. Published briefings and delivery logs may be retained for operational records.
Security
The service is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored as salted hashes, and briefing pages are reachable only through unguessable links. Access to the underlying systems is limited to Data Airflow administrators.
Your choices
Log in at any time to change your email or SMS preferences, delivery times, or password. To correct or delete your information, or to ask any question about this policy, contact us at info@dataairflow.com.
